Pacaso Joins LA Tech Week Panel to Champion Co-ownership as a Housing Solution that Increases Utilization and Efficiency

LOS ANGELES, October 15, 2025 – Pacaso, the leading technology-enabled marketplace for co-ownership of second homes, today announced its participation in the “Built Smarter: Tech Shaping Housing” panel during LA Tech Week. Pacaso’s Head of External Affairs, John Choi, will join fellow innovators from 3D printing, compact housing solutions, and policy tech to discuss how technology can help provide forward-thinking solutions to the housing crisis.

Pacaso’s discussion will focus on how co-ownership can improve housing utilization and efficiency. The company will emphasize how its model of consolidating demand for second homes also helps to relieve competitive pressure on the mid-tier housing market, making more entry-level inventory available for primary homebuyers.

“The housing crisis requires more than just shovels in the ground; it requires innovative solutions that maximize efficiency of existing inventory,” said John Choi, Pacaso Director of External Affairs. “Our co-ownership platform converts an idle, high-value asset, the traditional second home, into a resource that is used nearly 90% of the year. More importantly, by consolidating eight buyers into one luxury property, we free up competitive demand in the mid-tier market, which is a tangible benefit to people seeking a primary residence.”

The panel, moderated by YIMBY Action, will center on the structural barriers facing proptech and the need for policy modernization.

“YIMBY Action is tackling housing policy head-on, but the crisis has grown so severe that policy alone isn’t enough.” said Zachary Pitts, LA Director of YIMBY Action. “This panel brings together technologists who are not just talking about disruption, but about necessary, scalable solutions. We need every solution on the table including innovative technology and co-ownership that empower people to create stability and community right now.”

The panel, which includes Ross Maguire of Azure Printed Homes, Jonathan Palley of Clever Tiny Homes, and Mariesa Lenz of My Hamlet, will take place on Wednesday, October 15, as part of LA Tech Week
